I think he’s going to be an engineer.

I tell you, if he’s not the best 6 or 7 year old engineer at the end of all this, then we’re doing something wrong!

Today was present day, and he opened another gift from Grandma and Grandpa Atwood. The gift was another building set, though a bit different from the others he’s been getting.

He’s been having so much fun with all the different Lego sets, construction sets, puzzles, and other toys and gifts he’s been given. He is one blessed kid!

There’s not a whole lot to report about today. We had friends over in the morning, and he got to play a lot of video games. The afternoon routine was normal, and his friend Kevin came over for a little bit after rest time. Then we headed out for Friday night dinner with Julia’s family.

When we were leaving the restaurant, some of his cousins and his sister we’re climbing on a railing in front of the restaurant. He made a comment about wishing he could climb on the railing like he used to, and said it was making him sad to see them doing it. I just tried to reassure him that he will be able to do it again in the future and tried to direct his attention to something else. It just goes to show that even though he’s doing so well with everything and handling it really well, he still has his sad moments, and those make us sad too. At least we know he will be able to do those things again in the not-too-distant future, and for that we can be hopeful and grateful.
