I know there are still a few of you out there checking this blog, so I apologize that it’s taken so long to get back to it. It’s a busy time of year, and things have been going well with Elijah, so it’s easy to forget about this, or to keep pushing it back. But, I’ll try to give you a good, but brief update about what we’re up to. Mainly, it’s getting ready for Christmas!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I feel the need to apologize that I didn’t post last week, but at the same time there wasn’t a whole lot to post about, so having one post for the last 2 weeks should be okay. The biggest thing to share about this week, was Thanksgiving!
Up and down.
There wasn’t anything huge to share from this week, like there was last week, but this week did have some ups and downs.
California dreamin!
Okay, I’m sorry that I didn’t post last Sunday, but there was a good reason for it.
The fair!
The highlight of this week, by far, was going to the State Fair. I’ll get to that more in a minute, but first let’s talk about how Elijah is doing physically.
Getting out!
We’ve had beautiful weather here in Phoenix over the past week. So, we’ve been able to spend quite a bit of time outside this week, which is really nice. Here are some highlights of this last week.
Slowing down
I hope that this blog has in some way been a blessing to you. At a minimum, I hope it helped you to feel that you were in the know with everything that’s been going on in our lives. But, it’s time that I take a step back from this, not completely, but a step.
A great birthday!
Sorry I missed posting yesterday, but it was a busy day, and I just didn’t remember by the end of it. I was too worn out! It was a fun day, though, and Elijah didn’t want it to end. Literally, he tried to stay awake as long as he could last night because he didn’t want the day to be over.
9 weeks, and 1 day
Today is the 9-week anniversary of Elijah’s surgery. Can you believe it’s been that long? Can you believe how far he’s come since then? Thinking back on the surgery, in some ways it feels like it just happened yesterday and in other ways it feels like a lifetime ago. He still has a lot of work to do in order to get his legs working the way they should, but his bones are healing, his legs are strengthening, and he has no pain that we know of.
And in one day, technically in about an hour and 15 minutes, he will be 7 years old. That’s also going by very quickly. Tomorrow should be a lot of fun, and I’ll tell you all about it later on. (Ok, clarification… This blog site is run on Eastern Time, so when I post this it’s most likely going to say that it was posted on October 5th which is Elijah’s birthday. In Arizona, though, it’s still October 4th. That’s why I’m referring to it I was tomorrow. Make sense? Clear as mud right!)
It blew!
It was a busy day today. And there were a couple things we did today, that you may be waiting to hear about. So let’s get to it!
