I feel the need to apologize that I didn’t post last week, but at the same time there wasn’t a whole lot to post about, so having one post for the last 2 weeks should be okay. The biggest thing to share about this week, was Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is a busy day for us, as we spend it with both of our families. The morning starts out somewhat relaxing as we get to sleep in a bit, and then we usually have a special breakfast, like cinnamon rolls. We put on the Thanksgiving Day Parade and eat our breakfast while watching the parade. Then things start to get a little more hectic as Julia and I start to get things ready for the day, which usually involves baking or getting food ready to go. Then we set off to have Thanksgiving lunch with my side of the family. This year we had it at my brother Jeremiah’s house. We had a good time, good food, and got to see some people we haven’t seen for a while. After few hours, it’s time to leave and head to Julia parent’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. There, we had more good food, some more good times, and also got to see some people we don’t see as often. At the end of the day, though, we’re usually quite full and quite tired. It’s better now that the kids are getting older, as they don’t get as cranky as they used to, but it’s still a bit long, at least for Abigail. It was a good day, full of lots of blessings, and we’re thankful to God for all of the wonderful things he’s done for us, and for all of the wonderful people he’s put in our lives.
The day after Thanksgiving we put up our Christmas lights. I’ll have to get a picture of the house to put on the blog sometime. It’s kind of funny, because it usually turns out that the day we put up our Christmas lights is a warm day. So, we end up getting sweaty and sunburned while putting up our Christmas lights. As someone who grew up in Illinois, Christmas in Arizona still seems a little off to me!
The kids are getting ready for the Christmas program at church, and they’re doing a great job memorizing their scriptures and song lyrics. It’s going to be very cute, and the kids do such a good job with it!
School is continuing to go well, and there’s nothing major to tell you about there. The same goes for physical therapy. He’s continuing to go, and still making progress. His progress has seemed to slow down, though.
I’m sure we’ll have more exciting things to share as we get closer to Christmas, and I’ll make sure to get more pictures and videos on here to share with you as well!
It truly was a wonderful time to be together. I like our family, all sides of it. 🙂
