Looking forward to tomorrow.

Today was a good day. Elijah spent almost all day out of his wedge. And, he even did this:

I’m not sure whether he’s supposed to do that or not, but he did it either way. We were having dinner at Julia’s parent’s house, and at one point he called us and told us to look at him, and this is what he was doing. Now, if this picture doesn’t mean much to you, you may want to go back and watch the video called setting the baseline. In that video, you’ll see that Elijah can’t put his knees down sitting like this. Before the surgery they would be pointing up in the air if he tried to sit cross legged. This is a big improvement over what he could do before. And he wanted to keep doing it too. It makes me excited to see how much else has changed once he gets using his legs again and we see the full impact of the surgery.

As you know, tomorrow we have our follow-up with the doctor to see how he’s healing, and to see if he can start physical therapy. I feel like he’s ready, but I’m not a medical professional. Pray that tomorrow goes well and the blessings continue.

Speaking of blessings, today was another present day. This gift was another from my Aunt Cleo and Uncle Art. As you likely know, Elijah’s been doing quite a bit of art during his recovery, so this was a great gift and will definitely be used!
