Sitting at the table.

My two quick stories today, are centered around tables.

The first was during breakfast time. Since his surgery, Elijah has been sitting at his folding table while in his wheelchair. The rest of us sit at the table. This was because his legs wouldn’t fit under the kitchen table. Well, today I sat him in his regular chair at the kitchen table for breakfast. It was nice to see both the kids sitting at the table like they used to, and is just another sign of the progress we’re making.

The second was at lunch. It wasn’t significant because of the table, or where we were at, but who we were with. Grandma and Grandpa Atwood came to spend some time with us today. They wanted to take us out to lunch, and knew that we frequent the Sam’s Club Cafe for pizza and hot dogs. So, we went, and had some lunch together.

They also brought Elijah and Abigail some presents as well, and they were super excited about that! We spent some good time with them, and they got to see how well Elijah is doing in person.

Other than that, Julia spent most of the day at a training for Good News Club, and I took care of the kids at home while she was gone. Our excitement for the night mainly consisted of searching for treasures at the thrift store.

On a more medical note, we still haven’t been able to switch his wheelchair yet, but by the time we get it, he probably won’t be needing it too much. Okay, he’ll still need it quite a bit, but even just in the last couple days we’ve left his current wheelchair in the van and haven’t taken it out too much just because we haven’t needed it. It’s nice to not need it as much!
