Not much to post today. Julia just said to me, “I’m pretty sure you say that every time!” Not quite, but in our world, no news is good news for the most part.
It was a pretty normal Monday. The big difference today was that Julia went back to volunteering. For those of you that don’t know, she volunteers on Monday mornings at a retirement center. She works in their food pantry, and has done so for a number of years. She took some time off before and after Elijah’s surgery, but was back today. Abigail had spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Rice’s house, so it was just Elijah and I for a while this morning. I got him up, got him his breakfast, and got him started with school. Then, when Julia got home, she finished his schooling with him. It worked out well since I could get him started with something but still do my own work on the computer.
He’s walking more and more everyday, and pushing the limits more and more as well. I swear sometimes that kid is trying to run with how fast he’s moving. Or, when we’re not around or looking, he’s going off somewhere without his walker. It’s good practice, but we still want him to be safe. His balance is getting better and better as well, though his feet still stick out to the sides and his walking is still quite awkward.
He did get a new present today, which was another game for him to play. His sister really likes it too, but she doesn’t quite understand how to play it. She just likes it because it makes noise, and she’s a noisy girl. This one was courtesy of the Finley family!
in case any of you are wondering about some of the random references in this video: 1) I make a comment about the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, because Flint Lockwood uses a Simon game as his security keypad to get into his lab, 2) Elijah is talking about the movie Monsters vs. Aliens where Dr. Cockroach has to dance on a lighted keypad in order to infiltrate the security of the alien spaceship. Like I said, random!
