The old days weren’t that long ago, just before his surgery. But today was probably the closest thing we’ve had to one of those days since his surgery.
If you read this blog, you likely know that I’ve been able to work from home full time for the last few weeks. Before the surgery, I was able to work from home 2 days a week. Well, this week I start going back into the office 2 days a week, and today was my first day back. For me, that means leaving around 5:30 in the morning and getting home around 3:30. For Julia, that means most of the day she has the kids by herself.
So, it was like the old days. But not just because I went to work. It was also like the old days because they got to spend some special time together. They called me in the morning to say hi, and they were all in Abigail’s room playing on her floor, just like old times.
We knew it would happen, and we knew it would take time, but things are slowly starting to return to normal. Now, that normal maybe a little bit different, but some things will stay the same.
Here is another thing that’s returning to normal. When I get home from work, I usually take a nap because I don’t sleep a lot at night. Then it’s somewhat of a tradition for the kids to come wake me up. Today they came and woke me up with some gymnastics on top of me!
