Party time!

First of all, I have to apologize. Sorry I missed posting last night. It was just a busy day and a busy night, and by the time I remembered I was heading to bed. Just a warning though, I do plan on cutting back on blogging soon, most likely after Elijah’s birthday. I’m still figuring out what exactly I want to do with that, and some more details will come out later this week. Today, though, we had a party!

Our kids are pretty lucky. They usually get at least two birthday parties. One is with Julia’s family, and one is with my family. We will occasionally do them together and just have one party, but most of the time it’s just easier doing two separate parties. Tonight we had the party with Julia’s family.

We also had some special guests, Julia’s Aunt Milly and her Aunt Lex and Uncle Bernie. Milly lives here, so we get to see her pretty often which you can probably tell since she shows up often in this blog, but her Aunt Lex lives in Alabama, so we don’t get to see her as often. We had a lot of fun, and Elijah got a lot of really awesome presents. Abigail even got a couple as well. Hey, I even got one! I got a sweet vintage Mickey Mouse lunch box from Aunt Lex to match a vintage Mickey Mouse lamp she bought me a few years back. She’s a pretty good treasure hunter!

The party wasn’t just for Elijah, though. Our niece Hope had her birthday a couple weeks ago, but we weren’t able to celebrate it yet due sickness going on in her family. We don’t mind having combination birthday parties though. Makes them more fun!

Here’s a video of them blowing out the candles.

Elijah’s birthday is on Friday, so it’ll end up being more like a birthday week after it’s all said and done!

On a different note, I promised you pictures of his crystals when they were done. Here is what they look like after a few days. I’m not sure what happened with the red one. It came out funky, but the other one is more how it’s supposed to look.

We still have to finish up the volcano, and we have a long line of other experiments and projects to get to as well which we are excited about!

  1. I was going to ask about the crystals but forgot and hadn’t gotten in here for a few days. That is really cool. Even the red one is interesting. So glad Elijah got to have two nice birthdays with family. Thank you guys for coming across the valley to share with us “easterners”. πŸ™‚ Love you lots.So good to see him doing well without the aids. Woo Hoo!
