Sorry to be boring, but there’s not too much to share today. It was another day where we did our normal things. Nothing too exciting.
We had a pretty lazy morning, with some snuggling, late rising, and doing some magic tricks during breakfast. Then we went out and did some shopping, and by that I mean that we drove to a few stores and I ran in to get things while everyone else stayed out in the van.
During rest time I worked out in the garage, while Julia worked on getting things ready to start Elijah’s homeschooling this next week. Elijah got to play with Kevin for a while, and then we had a quiet dinner just the family and the TV! The kids took showers and we got them to bed pretty early tonight which was good.
Like I said, nothing too exciting!
Oh, but Julia told me I had to share that I messed up and gave Elijah the wrong medicine today. Though I was lucky, and caught it pretty quickly, so I was able to stop. I was looking at the medication schedule we have and I was thinking exactly what I was reading, but for some reason I just grabbed the wrong jar and didn’t realize I was filling it with something other than what I was thinking. Elijah asked me if it was the cherry flavored medicine, which I knew it was supposed to be, and so I said yes and started squirting it into his mouth. Because we’ve had some accidents with medication squirting back out of his mouth if we try to put it all in at once, I try to give it in small squirts to avoid that. Anyway, I told him it was the cherry medicine and started squirting it into his mouth, at which point he shook his head no. I stopped and said no? He said no and I immediately realized that I had filled the syringe with the wrong medicine. I had given him less than half of the dose, so I wasn’t too concerned. Still, it was a dumb mistake, and just proves how easy it is to do even when you’re thinking all the right things.
Other than that, it was really just a normal day. Well, not quite normal but pretty close. Here’s a couple funny pictures to share. We had taken off Elijah’s wedge so he could go to the bathroom and when we had it off Abigail got a hold of it and was trying to put it on herself. She couldn’t quite do it herself so I strapped her in and she played like this for a little while. She didn’t want me to take it off, but she couldn’t move too well to get away from me so she looked kind of like an inchworm as she scooted along the ground trying to get away from me. It was pretty cute.
