7 weeks down.

Today is officially 7 weeks since Elijah’s surgery. It’s amazing to think how quick his healing has taken place. The fact his bones were cut in half, separated with metal plates, and 7 weeks later the bones have almost fully healed and he’s up and walking, seems incredible to me.

Every day he gets better and better at balancing, walking, climbing, and doing everything else little boys his age do. Like I keep saying, though, there’s a long way to go and many things to work on, but he’s doing very well.

I’m sorry I don’t have any videos, pictures, or good stories to share today. It was a busy day for all of us. Julia and the kids we’re gone most of the day at Bible study and then to Grandma and Grandpa Rice’s shop for lunch. I was at the office during that time as well, so I didn’t spend much time with the family until the evening.

I do have a bit of good news and bad news, though. The good news is that our air conditioning is fixed, and the fan was the only thing broken. It could have been much worse so we’re thankful for that. The bad news is that Julia’s sister Jennifer is really sick right now. She’s been to Urgent Care multiple times, and they think she has both a viral infection and a bacterial infection going on at the same time, which is wreaking havoc on her. If you would please pray for her healing, and that she feels better soon, we would greatly appreciate it. And also continue to pray that whatever she has doesn’t spread any farther. Thankfully, Grandma and Grandpa Rice have been able to help out watching their kids, so Jen can focus on resting. But Shelagh, Julia’s mom, hasn’t been feeling too well either, so some prayers can be said for her as well.
