That’s right, in exactly two weeks Elijah will turn 7. He’s been through a lot before 7, I guess. Despite everything he’s been through recently, he still has a great outlook on life, and is constantly telling us all his grand plans for his birthday, and for life in general!
Today was a very busy day. Elijah had physical therapy in the morning, and afterwards had to finish up some school he didn’t get done yesterday. Right after that Julia took him to his art class. She dropped off Abigail with one of our friends, and after art class was over she swung by the house to pick something up. They were home for about 10 minutes before they had to leave to go to Good News Club. After Good News Club, we headed to meet our friends at Chuck-E-Cheese and then headed back to our house to have dinner with those friends. Once they left, it was time for bed. Whew, it was a full day. I’ll get into a little more detail below, if you care to know more.
Physical therapy went well, and they did some new exercises with him today. He keeps working on walking with his toes pointing forward while at home, and he’s making some progress with that.
Schooling is going well for the most part, though he and Julia do have their ups and downs, though more ups than downs.
In art class he got to make a pizza out of construction paper, though he did get in trouble at art class, mainly because he was stressing out the teacher by getting out of his wheelchair and popping wheelies in his wheelchair when he was in it.
Because Jennifer has been sick, Julia had to lead Good News Club today. And because they were short on helpers, I was recruited to come help out. Though it was a little bit stressful, it went well, and I had some fun being goofy with the kids. After it was all done and we were cleaning up Elijah was practicing his walking in the open space. Here’s a video:
Our friends, The Smiths, had taken Abigail with them to Chuck-E-Cheese, because that’s where their kids wanted to spend their allowance money. They were kind enough to share some of their tokens with us, so our kids could play some games and ride some rides with them as well.

We didn’t eat dinner there, though. instead we picked up some food and headed back to our house where we ate and played some video games here.
It was also present day, and Elijah got to open another gift from the Finley family. Unfortunately he didn’t have any time today to build it, but he’s looking forward to it!

That was most of our day, and we are pooped. Looking forward to a good weekend, though I’m sure it’ll be busy too!
