Today, Elijah started his physical therapy. We had an early morning session, which started at 7. That’s not too early for me, but Elijah was struggling waking up in the 6 o’clock hour.
“It’s like I have boulders in my legs.”
The doctor came into the room, and said she had to call the surgeon to ask what we should do if she saw little to no healing in his bones. She opened up her laptop to show us the x-rays of his hips and started talking about the lack of healing between the bones. This was not the news we wanted…
It was quite a shock to us, especially since we hadn’t taken any x-rays yet!
Looking forward to tomorrow.
Today was a good day. Elijah spent almost all day out of his wedge. And, he even did this:

The weekend so far.
I didn’t realize until this morning that I completely forgot to post something last night. Sorry to those of you who came checking and didn’t find anything. Tonight, I’ll give you a quick update on the last 2 days.
His first jump.
Before we get to the jump, I wanted to share a funny little story. Today Julia took the kids to Bible study. It went well, though I didn’t know Elijah was a little thief.
5 more days.
That’s how many days until Elijah’s next follow up with the doctor. It’s at that appointment they should be able to give us the go-ahead to start his physical therapy. That should hopefully open the door to some other changes as well.
An update on homeschool.
Well, today wasn’t very exciting. Haha! In fact, the kids didn’t even step foot outside the house today. That’s a little depressing now that I think about it. Anyway, because there is not much to share about that, I figured I’d give you an update on how Elijah’s homeschooling is going so far.
I wish…
More and more it seems that Elijah is getting tired of his wedge, or actually his situation in general. For a long time he seemed very content, and made very few comments about what he couldn’t do. That’s starting to change.
Very little pain.
I’m finding that I need to change what I’m putting in the blog, at least to some degree. Our days are starting to become routine enough that it would be boring for all of you to read the same things everyday. I do already try to focus on the differences and the highlights, but I think I need to do more of that and less of the normal day-to-day stuff. So that’s what I’ll try to do.
More and more movement.
There’s not much to report about what we did today, but what I want to talk about is the increasing movement we’ve been seeing in Elijah.
