Elijah had a very busy day today. He also did a lot of physical activity today.
Here’s a quick version of today. He started out with physical therapy in the morning. He wasn’t home from that very long, before he, Julia, and Abigail headed off to art class. Art class ended up getting cancelled due to a power outage, so they went to a friend’s house instead. They came home just to drop off Abigail, and then he and Julia went to Good News Club. This is a Christian after school program that Julia’s sister Jennifer is running at her kids’ school. Julia is helping out this year, and Elijah is joining going as a participant. This will be good for him in many ways, one of which is giving him some more social interaction with other kids his age. They came home from that, and after being home for about 30 minutes, it was time to meet Julia’s family for dinner. After dinner, we came home, played a little Mario Kart, and put the kids down for bed. Whew, that’s the busiest day he’s had in a long time.
In the short time he was home after Good News Club and before dinner, I decided to give him his walker. This is a small walker that I picked up at a thrift store, and I thought it would be the right size for him. He hadn’t used it before, so I wasn’t sure how well he would do. I’ll leave you with a few videos to show you the answer!
Oh, and one more thing. At one point he decided to try to be a gymnast and hold himself up on his walker while swinging his legs back and forth. He did it, but also ended up losing his balance and falling. Luckily he fell straight backwards and landed on his bottom. Other than hurting his bottom a bit, I don’t think it was too bad. We did have a very serious talk, however, to dissuade him from trying anything like that again!
Yay!!! We’re SO proud of you Elijah!!! Keep it up!
